Adolescent Girls Empowerment Program
The “Adolescent Girls Empowerment Program (AGEP)” being implemented by Rise Foundation, with support from Vishakha, is making a significant impact in the rural areas of Balotra District, specifically in the panchayats of Keetpala, Tapra, Asada, and Mewa Nagar. The program focuses on empowering adolescent girls, particularly those aged between 14 and 19, by addressing their educational needs. After identifying school dropouts, the team successfully enrolled these girls in Class 10 through the Rajasthan State Open School (RSOS) system, providing them with a second chance at completing their education. To facilitate their learning, four educational camps have been established across the panchayats, where dedicated instructors teach the enrolled girls, ensuring they receive quality education in a supportive and accessible environment.

Additionally, the program has formed seven adolescent groups in each of the four panchayats, providing a platform for girls to come together and engage in monthly capacity-building meetings. These sessions focus on developing life skills, building self-confidence, and fostering leadership qualities among the girls, thus contributing to their overall empowerment. Through these initiatives, the AGEP is not only improving the educational opportunities for adolescent girls but also equipping them with the tools needed to become confident and empowered individuals in their communities.
